Black Annie was a passion project turned independent study the fall of my senior year. My aunt has always dreamed of opening up her own restaurant in New Orleans, but the brand of it all is the one thing holding her back. Once I learned about independent studies and the freedom embedded with those, I knew I wanted to pitch the idea of creating this brand to my professor and ask if I could do this as a semester-long project.
